ABOUT KUDO

Kudo is MMA or Mixed Martial Arts : it is a safe , scientific, modern & practical combination of traditional sports like Karate , Judo, Jujutsu, Muay Thai & Kickboxing.

Daido Juku is the Honbu for the martial art Kudo , founded in 1981 by Takashi Azuma. Azuma, originally a Kyokushin Karate 1977 full contact karate champion, resigned from the Kyokushin Organization to form Daido Juku in Sendai city, located in northern Honsh?, Japan.

Daido Juku literally translated means “School of the Great Way”. It incorporates techniques which were not present at that time in full contact karate styles. Azuma, being a third-degree black belt in Judo as well as a 4th-degree black belt in Kyokushin karate, recognized the potential for a hybrid martial art. These would not be restricted by the boundaries of a single style but would use techniques from various martial arts, namely, at the time of its creation in 1980, Judo and Karate. In the late 1980s and early 90s the style began to incorporate various techniques from muay thai, boxing, Jujutsu, sambo, submission wrestling, and other martial arts, fine tuning each technique for use within the Kudo style. One of the fundamental goals of Kudo being the creation of a versatile and realistic fighting style without compromising safety, Azuma created a style which incorporated various offensive as well as defensive techniques which includes punches to the head, elbow strikes, head butts, judo throws, jiu-jitsu joint locks and other standup and ground fighting techniques.

In 1981, Daido Juku made its public debut at the 1981 Hokutoki Karate Championships, also known as Hokutoki. Originally known as Kakuto Karate Daidojuku (“Combat Karate Daidojuku”), the name of the style was changed to recognize its unique and unorthodox techniques as a mixed martial art. In 2001 at an official press conference held for Daido Juku, founder Azuma Takashi and president of Daidojuku, N.P.O., renamed the mixed martial art Bud? to Kudo. This renaming allowed Kudo the opportunity of becoming an official Japanese Cultural Bud? sport under the same category as Judo, Aikido and Kendo. KIFI Association (Kudo International Federation India) , is the governing body for kudo in india . It was estabilshed on 19th october 2011 under the aegis of Jukucho Takashi Azuma and Shihan Akshay Kumar.
The KUDO revolution was started in India by Hanshi Mehul Vora , president of KIFI on the eve of the 3rd Akshay Kumar International Invitational Karate-Do Tournament. This was the first time ever a six member all Japan champions team gave demonstrations and taught students and instructors in India.

The mission of statement Hanshi Mehul Vora and KIFI association is to promote kudo in its purest form across every village , town and city of India and to create world champions in kudo.

Like other states of India, KUDO was officially launched in West Bengal on 9th November, 2013 in Siliguri by Hanshi Mehul Vora. Renshi Sahadev Barman, 4th degree black belt , happened to come in close contact with Hanshi Mehul Vora and he appointed S. D. Barman as chief instructor of KUDO in West Bengal. A state committee was formed under the leadership of S. D. Barman following West Bengal Govt. Society Registration Act. Renshi S.D. Barman & Sri Uttam Chakraborty were selected and appointed as President & Secretary of KUDO Mixed Martial Art Association (Kudo MMA West Bengal) respectively by “Kifi Association”. Later S. D. Barman was selected as Director of North East India in 2017 and was also elected as the Joint Secretary of KIFI in 2019 at Sagar, MP [Madhya Pradesh, India]

PROMOTION OF KUDO

Kudo Mixed Martial Art association West Bengal wants to materialize its views in very near future by opening more Kudo units with expert instructors more extensively in different districts of West Bengal including schools , colleges, universities etc. for the promotion of Kudo in every nook and corner of West Bengal.

AKSHAY KUMAR KUDO TOURNAMENT

Kudo association is also trying hard to organize the Akshay Kumar’s International Kudo Tournament in Siliguri, West Bengal in near future.

WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENCE

This association whole heartedly intends to continue the special Kudo & Women’s self-defence training camps like previous years in order to teach thousand people by training one girl that girls are not less strong in the society .

FREE TRANING FOR WOMEN

For safety of the chastity of the women of our society, the association is ready to make arrangement for free training with Kudo MMA for women who belong to the financially weaker section.

EMPLOYMENT GENERATION

The association is meant not only for one’s self-defence or body & character building but also for a good means of one’s livelihood. Kudo has already been recognized by Kudo International Federation, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Khelo India, Fit India, National Anti-Doping Agency, School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In connection with these govt organisations, there will have more and more scopes of employment generation.
